Spring has finally sprung and the students are working hard!
Kindergarten has been practicing their typing skills focusing on learning the keys that make up the homerow. They will also create pictures on Tux Paint of ways we can help the Earth in honor of Earth Day, 4/22.
First Grade has been working on Scholastic Story Starters to create fiction stories from a variety of writing prompts. This past week we began a cloze activity for Microsoft Word for the students to demonstrate the Word Processing skills they have learned this year.
Second Grade has just finished "All About Me" Power Point presentations in which they listed facts about themselves and included a picture of themselves which they took using the camera on the laptops. The students took turns presenting their projects in front of the class.
Third Grade has been practicing logging into their Google accounts and we used Google Slides to create a fraction word problem presentation. Then we shared our finished projects with Mr. DiClemente and Mrs. Casey!

March Update!
Here are some updates on the projects we've been working on from February and March!
Kindergarten: We talked about Lent and doing nice things for others during this season. The children used Tux Paint to create Get Well pictures that were sent to the patients at CHOP. This past week we celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday by exploring the website www.seussville.com.
First Grade: As a Lenten good deed we typed friendly letters to be sent to the patients at CHOP. Students in Miss Tosti's class recently wrote biographies about famous historical figures in their class, which they brought to the lab to type.
Second Grade: Students typed their Lenten promises as a way to reflect during this Holy season.
Third Grade: Students have been working on a long term research project in which they found facts and related photographs of a rural, urban, or suburban community. Then we used that information to create a travel brochure on Read Write Think's Online Printing Press.

January Update
We have been working hard in the lab this month! Take a look at what each grade is focusing on during this chilly month!

First Grade: Students have been reviewing their weekly Spelling words by typing sentences on Microsoft Word and practicing on www.spellingcity.com!
Second Grade: We just finished typing paragraphs teling about what we did over the winter break. Students formatted their text, ran a Spell Check, and added related clip art.
Third Grade: We have been getting familiarized with using our new Google accounts! Students explored the Drive and created a Google Doc which they shared with Mrs. Crowley. Next up, students will be creating travel brochures about a community of their choosing (rural, urban, or suburban).

Christmas Recap Green Screen Video
Before Christmas we began a green screen video project in 1st Grade. The students created pictures on Tux Paint which we used as a backdrop for our filming. Using the app Veescope Live, Mrs. Crowley filmed the students in front of a green screen and then replaced the green with the actual picture the students created. Take a look at one of the finshed products. The other 2 first grade videos will be posted soon!
